Ayumi Shibata (柴田 あゆみ Shibata Ayumi), née Ayumi Ogawa (小川 あゆみ, Ogawa Ayumi), was the wife of Hajime Shibata and the mother of Tsugumi Shibata.

Appearance

Ayumi was a beautiful pale-skinned young woman with chest-length or mid-back length wavy brown hair that has bangs swept to the right and brown eyes.

She bears a striking resemblance to Tsugumi Shibata when Ayumi was young.

Etymology

• The name Ayumi is written in hiragana (あゆみ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (亜由美 or 歩), it could possibly mean:
  • 亜由美 - "second, Asia" (亜) (a), "reason, case, cause" (由) (yu) and "beautiful" (美) (mi).
  • 歩 - "walk, step".
• Ayumi's surname Shibata means "brush, firewood" (柴) (shiba) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta).
  • Her maiden name Ogawa means "stream, brook, bourn/bourne" (小川).
