Plot[]

Kamisaka Rokuro is a novelist whose mystery genre book, The Skyscraper's Shadow, has received publicity due to murder of a girl by a mechanism that seems inspired by it. The murderer, later captured, ties a barbell to a rope then to her then tosses the weight off the roof of a skyscraper. Due to this and similar incidents, his book's popularity skyrockets over the Internet, while outside of the Internet, it remains largely unknown. Kamisaka agrees to be interviewed by a reporter from the Editing Department, Asaba Sumi; however, the Editor-in-Chief changes the final draft so the magazine would sell more. Asaba feels it was her fault that Kamisaka receives blame as the murderer's instigator, and she seeks him to apologize to him.

In the meantime, the first victim's older sister, Michio Yui, meets separately with Kamisaka and the murderer, Chochi Hiroto, to see which one of them is to blame. She intends to send one of them to Hell. As Michio meets Kamisaka Asaba approaches. Together they decide to each send one person to Hell in order to banish three people all at once. Michio chooses the Editor-in-Chief, Asaba chooses Chochi, and Kamisaka chooses his fair-weather friend. They enter the names then meet together in a hotel room. Simultaneously, they pull their threads.

After the banishings, Kamisaka suggests they all have a drink together, but as he grabs a beer from the hotel mini-bar, he disappears. As he is ferried he learns Chochi Rika, the murderer's mother, blamed him for inspiring her son and banished him.
