Aya Kuroda[]

S1 EP 01 Aya Kuroda

Aya Kuroda (黒田 亜矢, Kuroda Aya) was a bully at her school and the first main antagonist who robbed donation money from the class representative, Mayumi Hashimoto. Threatening to tell the whole school how irresponsible she was, Aya blackmails Mayumi in exchange for favors and money. When Mayumi had enough of Aya's demands, she decided to send Aya to Hell.

    • The name Aya means "second, Asia" (亜) (a) and "arrow" (矢) (ya).

Keiji Kisaragi[]

S1 EP 02 Kisaragi

Keiji Kisaragi (如月) was the second main antagonist and the police detective investigating the case of Ryouko Takamura's stalker. He accused his partner, Detective Akimoto of being the culprit, but this was a lie used to lure Ryoko's father away from her, so he could capture her as he was the real stalker. He was sent to Hell when he captured Ryouko and pushed her to her breaking point.

Mamoru Hanagasa[]

S1 EP 03 Mamoru

Mamoru Hanagasa (花笠 守, Hanagasa Mamoru) was the best baseball pitcher in his school and the third main antagonist. One day he bullies and injures one of his team members Shinichi Muroi who ends up dying a few days later and frames Shinichi's best friend Daisuke Iwashita. Because of his narassastic attitude, he believed that his talent as a baseball player would allow him to escape any kind of punishment as he continued to deny his involvement in Shinichi's death even as he was ferried to Hell by Ai.

Yoshiyuki Honjou[]

S1 EP 04 Yoshiyuki

Doctor Yoshiyuki Honjou (本篠 義之, Honjō Yoshiyuki) was the fourth main antagonist and a veterinarian who used to neglect the pets which he was supposed to take care of. He made sure that no one discovered what he did by destroying any evidence or testimony from his staff over his cases.

Riho Kaifu[]

Riho Kaifu (海部 里穂, Kaifu Riho) was the fifth main antagonist and the CEO of the company Deadline, but she lacks the ability to use a computer. She uses Misato Tamura, a middle school student who knows more about computers. Riho goes to extreme measures to make sure her secret is never revealed.

Namiko Todaka[]

Namiko Todaka (戸高 奈美子, Todaka Namiko) is the sixth main antagonist. A vicious woman who is married to a wealthy businessman but commits infidelity when her family is out. When her neighbor, Keiko Yasuda, accidentally catches her having an affair, Namiko tortures Keiko into keeping her quiet; going to far as to send men to Keiko's house to make it seem like she is the one having an affair. She is eventually sent to Hell by Keiko's daughter Haruka Yasuda who was no longer able to handle the damage Namiko was doing to her family. The truth of her adulterous ways is revealed to everyone and puts her family to shame when it is believed her disappearance is due to her running away with another man.

Ayaka Kurenai[]

Ayaka

Ayaka Kurenai (紅 彩香, Kurenai Ayaka) was the adopted daughter of Midori Kurenai and the seventh and the true main antagonist, a famous theater actress. However, Ayaka could not live up to her mother's potential and failed in being cast in a major role. In a fit of jealousy, Ayaka hires two amateur crooks to ruin Kaoruko Kurushima's voice; therefore destroying her chances at being an actress. She later admitted that she never cared about acting as she only wanted her adopted mother's fame and fortune. Before she was able to use her own doll to send her mother to Hell, Kaoruko sent Ayaka to Hell.

Goro Ishizu[]

Goro Ishizu (石津 吾郎, Ishidzu Gorō) was Chie Tanuma's best friend's boyfriend and the eighth antagonist. He nearly killed Yuuko Kido when she fell from a high floor rooftop and the event was witnessed by Chie. When Chie confronted Goro about it, he continued to claim that he was not the one at fault and eventually tried to strangle Chie. During that moment, Chie untied the thread and had Goro sent to Hell.

Shinya Morisaki[]

After being rejected by Hiromi Kasuga, Shinya Morisaki (森崎 伸也, Morisaki Shinya) stole one of her cake recipes and presented it as his own in an attempt to ruin her new bakery. After Hiromi was forced to shut down her bakery, Morisaki was sent to Hell by Yuka Kasuga when she learned he did this solely out of spite of being rejected and feeling he was indebted to the help he had given them.

    • The name Shinya means "extend, stretch, open" (伸) (shin) and "to be, also" (也) (ya).

Shiori Akasaka[]

Shiori Akasaka (赤坂 詩織, Akasaka Shiori) is one who tries to control her friends but actually only befriends someone if it is convenient to her. Ironically, she was actually befriended by others out of convenience and became hurt when she learned of this. After attempting to regain her friendship with Minami, Shiori is accidentally sent to Hell by Minami Shibuya when Shiori forced her to pull the red string from the doll from thinking that it would curse someone else.

Takashi Inagaki[]

Takashi Inagaki (稲垣 隆史, Inagaki Takashi) is a journalist who believes he is exposing corrupt personnel through his articles but, in actually, fabricates many of his stories. When an article written about Masaya Kataoka's father caused him to commit suicide and eventually tore his family apart, Masaya decided to send Takashi to Hell.

Yoshiki Fukusawa[]

Although a dedicated school teacher, Yoshiki Fukusawa (深沢 芳樹, Fukusawa Yoshiki) had no respect from his student's. After numerous attempts to have Akane Sawai return to school, he is eventually figured out to be her online pen-pal. After both admitted how depressed they are and were tired of living, he asks Akane to use the straw doll to send him to Hell. Akane grants him his wish but, while speaking with Ai Enma, Yoshiki becomes upset at learning that Akane would eventually be sent to Hell because of his selfish request.

Ryouzo Kusunoki[]

Ryouzo Kusunoki (楠木 亮造, Kusunoki Ryōzō) was suspected of being involved in the murder/suicide of Saki Kirino's father. While he was hailed as an ideal and caring mayor by the townspeople, Kusunoki continued to proclaim his innocence against the accusations of being involved in Mr. Kirino's death. When he did secretly admit to some agreement's with known criminals in order to protect a senior home from being demolished which Mr. Kirino attempted to use as blackmail to secure funds for his daughter, the mayor turned him down on payment and this was thought to be the theory of Mr. Kirino possibly committing suicide. Even as Kusunoki is being ferried to Hell, he is upset that he was still not able to apologize to Saki one last time.

Fujie Minato[]

Fujie Minato

Fujie Minato (湊 藤江, Minato Fujie) is a mentally ill woman who had kept her niece Mina Minato isolated for years on an island and it was later revealed Fujie murdered her mother Satsuki Minato and kept her corpse in a back shed. When she attacked Mina in an attempt to keep her from leaving as well, Mina was forced to send her to Hell in self defense.

Yuki[]

Yuki (ユキ) was sent to hell by her twin sister, Yumi, after years of sabotaging Yumi's circus equipment and props in order to make her look inadequate to the audience and their father, the ring master, so that she could stand out on her own instead of being acknowledged as 'half a person'.

Meiko Shimono (下野 芽衣子, Shimono Meiko) is a sadistic, psychopath and crazy woman obsessed with her inherited fortune. She held Miki's dogs hostage and eventually killed them and drowned the newborn puppies, because the dogs bit her ankle. After being caught, she confessed that she had murdered her parents in order to get her fortune quicker and even killed her newborn son to prevent her inheritance being lowered, which implies she murdered her husband too. Even as she is being taken to Hell, she tried to convince Ai Enma to send her back just so she could be with her money. She is hostile towards anything that moves (possible all criminals also) and she is possible powerless against the yakuza and gangs of delinquents (Sukeban, Banchō and Bōsōzoku).

    • Meiko's surname Shimono means "retirement" (下野).

Kyougetsu Ujiie[]

Kyougetsu Ujiie (氏家 鏡月, Ujiie Kyōgetsu) is the mother of Yukio Ujiie who treated her daughter-in-law Inori Ujiie like a living doll.

Kyougetsu would have Inori behave in such a manner by preventing her from doing things such as cooking, cleaning, and even chastising her if she believed Inori gained weight. Kyougetsu would attempt to capture Inori's beauty through her work as a doll maker but was never satisfied with the outcome. Eventually, Inori was unable to take the abuse and decided to send her mother-in-law to Hell.

    • The name Kyougetsu means "mirror, looking glass" (鏡) (kyou) and "moon" (月) (getsu).
    • Kyougetsu's surname Ujiie means "Mr., family name, surname, clan" (氏) (uji) and "house, home, family, residence/residency, building, dwelling, habitation" (ie) (家).

Gilles de L'Enfer[]

Gilles de L'Enfer

Said to be the opposite of Hell Girl, Gilles de L'Enfer (ジル・ドゥ・ロンフェール) shows that he has mysterious powers of his own after claiming that he has returned from Hell in order to seek vengeance on those who had murdered him. After exposing a fake psychic on live television, Gilles succeeds in luring out Ai Enma and her team where he reveals his true plan is to send Ai to Hell.


Ryousuke Sekine[]

Ryosuke Sekine

Ryousuke Sekine (関根 良介, Sekine Ryōsuke) sold Yuko and her father defective fertilizer, causing them to lose a lot of money and she eventually lost her house. It is unknown if Ryosuke was sent to hell off-screen in this episode, but it is most likely that he was, considering that Yuko was near a computer at that time.

Noriko Hayashi (林 紀子, Hayashi Noriko) dates wealthy men only for their money until they have nothing left and she moves onto somebody else. A former lover of her's sends her to hell because she had drained him of all his money and cheated on him.

Kanako Sakuragi[]

Kanako Sakuragi (桜木加奈子 , Sakuragi Kanako) is a young, kind nurse, well known and beloved by her neighbors, patients and fellow nurses for her selfless and optimistic nature. For seemingly no reason, she is sent to Hell by a drug user. However, because she actually did nothing wrong towards the man, she is possibly saved and sent to Heaven.

Eiko Kamishiro[]

Eiko Kamishiro (神代 映子, Kamishiro Eiko) is a science teacher who gives the impression of a kind and caring woman who is willing to go to great lengths to help her students, but in actuality is possibly the one who has been constantly bullying Maki Onda; doing things such as putting thumb tacks in her shoes, putting caterpillars in her locker and pencil box, and writing slander on her school supplies. Her reasoning was possibly sexually motivated although never made clear. After threatening her with hydrofluoric acid, Onda sends her to Hell.

Unknown Man[]

A pedophile who had kidnapped, assaulted, and murdered Sumrie; the sister of Yayoi Kurayoshi. After having assaulted and murdered Sumrie, he stuffed her body into a suitcase and threw it into a lake. Through visions Sumrie sends to her sister, Yayoi learns his identity and sends him to Hell.


Yumie Hanamura[]

Yumie Hanamura (花村 弓枝, Hanamura Yumie) is Kei Takada's cheating and manipulative girlfriend who would purposely keep Kei away from Tae Sakairi when possible while mocking Tae. Yumie would continually tell Kei how she cared for him and wanted her first time to be with him in Hawaii but was actually cheating on him with another boy. She shows little concern of being revealed when Tae discovers her unfaithful ways. After Kei's death, Yumie shows no sympathy which results in Tae contacting Ai Enma to send her to Hell.

Ichirou Kurobe[]

Shouki

Fired from his job as a host, Ichirou, preferring to go by Shouki (翔貴, Shōki), wanted to out do his former employer and recruited Shuuichi Yagisawa and a third man to pull off a robbery. They were successful but the third man of their group became a risk as he wanted to spend his share without care of the attention it would bring. Knowing the man could jeopardize everything, Shouki ordered Shuuichi to kill the man or else he wouldn't get his share of the money. Even though Shuuichi killed the man, Shouki did not give him his share and instead used it to open a new club. When Shuuichi threatened to go to the police if Shouki did not give him his money, Shouki told Shuuichi's wife, Chinami Yagisawa, how her husband had killed someone and caused her health to decline. Because of this, Shuuichi sent Shouki to Hell.

Chikaraya Hashitsume (橋爪 力也, Hashidzume Chikaraya) is the leader of a gang who learns that a member of his crew, Leon Yamada, plans to leave the gang after confessing to a girl he is in love with. Angered at this news, Chikaraya decides to kidnap Leon's romantic interest and plans to assault her as a means of teaching Leon a lesson. He is sent to Hell by Leon who had contacted Ai in order to stop Chikaraya from going through with his plans.

Hirohisa Sugita[]

Hirohisa Sugita (杉田 宏久, Sugita Hirohisa) drugged his former girlfriend Kiwako Nitta to fall asleep in order for his friend in the other room to rape her. She sends him to hell almost immediately after this.

Kazuko Ougi[]

Kazuko Ougi

Mother of Emi Ougi. After her son, Tatsuya, died in a motorcycle accident, Kazuko began to lose her grip on reality. She would attempt to get the city to take responsibility for the accident but was ignored. As she started to lose her sanity, Kazuko would ignore Emi and imagine her son was still alive, mistaking anyone similar for him. Because of her obsession with her son that was revealed to have started long before Tatsuya's death, Emi is no longer able to cope with her mother's neglect and sends Kazuko to Hell.


Mami Kuriyama[]

Mami Kuriyama (栗山 真美, Kuriyama Mami) is a former student of Shouko Baba who created a fake hell-link to get a list of people who wanted to send Shouko to hell, and framed her student, Waka Ikami, for it. Later that night, she attempts to get Waka to send Shouko to hell, as she didn't want to end up going to hell herself. Shouko knew all along that Mami was behind it all, and sends her to hell for being a failure as a teacher.

    • Mami's surname Kuriyama means "chestnut" (栗) (kuri) and "mountain, hill" (山) (yama).

Mikio Suzaki[]

Mikio Suzaki (須崎 幹夫, Suzaki Mikio), nicknamed Miki, is a "much sought-after model" (as said by Ichimokuren) who was very overprotective of his twin sister, Maho Suzaki. So much so that he dressed up as a woman to steal Maho's boyfriends away from her. After Maho confronts him, he confesses that he is in love with her and tries to subdue her. After this, Maho loses her patience and sends Mikio to hell.

He appears in Episode 35.

Tetsurou Negoro[]

A man named Hachiroku Toyoda sends Tetsurou Negoro (根来 哲郎, Negoro Tetsurō) to hell after he dented his car and spilled coffee on him.

Kyouko Tachibana[]

Kyouko Tachibana (立花 今日子, Tachibana Kyōko) continuously pranks Shizuko Amagi to get her to let go of her cat, Muru. After pulling another prank that went too far, putting a bag of meat on her doorstep, Shizuko sends Kyouko to Hell due to thinking that Kyouko killed Muru.

    • Kyouko's surname Tachibana means "standing" (立) (tachi) and "flower, blossom" (花) (hana/bana).

Tatsuhiko Makimura[]

He made a very disrespectful peace sign in front of a news broadcast, involving an accident that caused the death of Kihachi's wife and son, and put his daughter in a coma. Kihachi eventually learns his name and sends him to hell.



Toshiya Kakinuma[]

Toshiya Kakinuma (柿沼 敏也, Kakinuma Toshiya) was an abusive ex-boyfriend of Sayaka, who end up breaking up because Sayaka had a miscarriage that was his fault, from him pushing her down the stairs. She eventually decides to send him to hell after he refused to apologize.

  • Etymology:
    • The name Toshiya means "quick, clever, sharp" (敏) (toshi) and "to be, also" (也) (ya).
    • Toshiya's surname Kakinuma means "persimmon" (柿) (kaki) and "swamp, pond, bog, lake" (沼) (numa).
    • Persimmon is an edible fruit that resembles a large tomato and has very sweet flesh.

Kuniji Kanno[]

Kuniji Kanno (菅野 郁志, Kan'no Kuniji) was the former husband of Harumi Kanno who abused her for several years. After Harumi had a stroke from exhaustion, she sends him to hell.

Matsu Uetsuki[]

Matsu Uetsuki (上月 マツ, Uetsuki Matsu) is a serial killer and con-artist who uses people to make money for her, and disposes of them after they served their purpose. After Matsu stabs and fatally wounds Ran, Ran sacrifices herself by sending Matsu to hell along with her, to avoid anyone else being scammed.



Hetarou Kenmochi[]

The former husband of Honami Chiwaki who was very abusive and was sent to Hell by her, although Honami did this before her daughter Nene Chiwaki could remember anything.




Michiyo Takeda[]

Michiyo Takeda (武田 美千代, Takeda Michiyo) was a disabled woman who was very demanding. Shintani appears to have a great dislike of dogs and would try to make Mioi's dog, Momo, seem like a bad dog in order to have it removed from the apartment building. She would set up false scenes to make things look like someone had an ill-behaved dog in the building in order to have all pets banned but found little success. Eventually, she began terrorizing Mioi and spreading false rumors about her to other residents. Seeming at the peak of her madness, Shintani tried to poison Momo but the attempt failed as Momo survived. She would continue to torment Mioi until Mioi eventually had enough and accidentally sent her to Hell. As she goes to Hell, Shintani is no longer able to speak, barking like a dog, and seems destined to remain in Hell as a dog for eternity.

He probably was not saved by God due to his wrathful and lustful nature.

Kaito decided to send his unborn sister to Hell; a feat which physically affected Otsu. Because Mao had not done anything to Kaito, it is likely she saved by God and was sent to Heaven, or even reborn in another family.

When Yuika forced Sumika to take her place after her arm was injured, Sumika began to enjoy this new side of herself and began posing as her sister every chance she could; even sleeping with Yuika's boyfriend. Once Yuika was healed and attempted to take her place back with Sumika not wanting to go back to how she was before. It is unknown which sister was sent to hell as the candle had wax that obscured the name.

Tomohide would attempt to steal from Fumio but shows that he was bothered by his own actions and had attempted to return a stolen video camera but became angered when he overheard Fumio casually brush over attending college as he hadn't yet decided what to do in the future. Tomohide decided to physically beat Fumio only for his victim to bring out the straw doll given to him by Ai Enma. Tomohide encouraged Fumio to send him to Hell and his wish was granted. As Tomohide is being sent to Hell, he apologizes to his younger sister for not returning home. It is implied that Tomohide had sent his father to Hell at an earlier time as he does not give much details about their father to his younger sister and he is seen with the burn mark on his chest.

When Shiori seemed to have found joy in Toshi commenting how Shiori does what she pleases without fear of repercussion, Toshi took this as an insult and stabbed her hand with a fork. Toshi was soon sent to Hell by Shiori.

When he moved into the Nagata household, he began tormenting the Nagata family and eventually raped Arina. He is sent to Hell by Akira as punishment for assaulting Arina and to prevent him from harming others in the future.

Saeko Yanohara (矢野原 冴子, Yanohara Saeko) is the director of the Lovely Hall nursing home for the elderly. While she attempts to give off a professional and caring appearance to the outside world, Saeko is fully aware of the negligence and abuse that her staff places upon the elderly men and women; such as physical beatings, placing garbage in rooms, and even sedating the residents to keep them quiet when a television crew is present. Because she was aware of the abuse but did nothing to stop it, in fact participated in it in order to keep from being discovered, Saeko was sent to Hell by Sakura Kubota.
